ONLYRICS 🎵

About:

Made this tool for my personal use because I was tired of searching up the lyrics through Google every single time. This is more-or-less a decluttered version of Genius' lyrics pages (minus the ads and annotations).

How it works:

Type in the artist name and the title of the song you'd like to get the lyrics for.
Sends a request to the Genius API to grab the JSON object/info.
Auto-picks the top result (the one that is either most popular, or matches the search query the most).
Grabs the song page's URL and sends another request to retrieve its lyrics (the JSON object/info retrieved from the Genius API cannot do this, so Cheerio is used).
Cleans the lyrics (i.e. removes annotations) and displays it here.

Oops! Lyrics not found

Reasons this may have occurred:

Possible mispelling in the artist or song name input.
Too many artists in the artist field (if there are multiple artists for that song, try just the first one!)
The song you're looking for doesn't exist on Genius yet.
The song exists on Genius, but the lyrics have yet to be transcribed.
